Oh Passover, Passover, thirty years ago in 1995, I had no idea that my life was about to change and it all started with you. From the time I was a child, you were the great feast we celebrated each year. But as I got older, I ran from you and everything Jewish.

On that special day thirty years ago, you were not a thought. Yet unknowingly, God used you as the Moed (appointed time, meeting) and catalyst that would usher in the restoration of my Jewish roots and His plan for my life. Yet on that great day, you were hidden, replaced, and out of sight.

Since that time, little by little, layer by layer, God healed, revealed and restored me to my Jewish roots. And at the same time, opened my eyes to the erroneous theologies and doctrines of men. These were those that perverted His word and replaced the Jewish roots, dividing the One New Man (Jewish and Gentile believers).

As He opened my eyes to all these things, He also directed me to look back to that calendar day in 1995. As I looked at that date that Easter fell to, I was shocked yet elated to find out it was you! You, Passover, the true Moed indeed, I was raised to life on Resurrection Eve!

His death and resurrection would have been enough, Dayenu! (Hebrew meaning: it would have been enough). Knowing Him in an intimate way, would have been enough, Dayenu! But God didn’t stop there. He told me years ago, “I will show you what it really means to be a Jew.” Oh the faithfulness of God!

It was during the Lord’s Seder, His commandment to us, remember His blood and His body broken for us. And within this holy feast that we partake of together, let us also remember, it was on the cross that the wall between us (the One New Man) was abolished forever! Thank you Yeshua! (Ephesians 2:14-16)

On this Passover, to my Lord and Jewish big brother, Happy Anniversary Yeshua, for thirty years together!

Chag Pesach Sameach, Happy Passover to all of my friends!

Shalom, shalom!

Ellen (Brucha)

    OMGoodness Sister!

You can’t make this stuff up. This was also my awaking moment when Yahweh awakened my Jewish heritage. 1995, was my First Seder at the home of a former colleague whose father married a Jewish believer. Amazing. In was in their home and this woman’s father flew in from New York, to officiate my first Passover. It was life changing and I’ve never been the same.

    Happy Passover and much love,
