Shalom, all! I am so glad to be back writing again. It has been a little while since I last blogged and for good reason; God brought this Jewish girl a Gentile (non-Jewish) husband! After standing and believing for my future husband for thirteen years, God in His faithfulness connected me to my one and only, William Collins.
I thought the title of this post was very appropriate being that this blog is about the One New Man but I also named it for another reason which I will share with you shortly. But first I would like to share with you a little bit about my ONM marriage. Oh, and by the way, for those of you who are new to my blog, you can read more about the ONM (One New Man) on my “About” tab here on the blog. I also will be posting more about it within my next few posts.
Back to my marriage…God has given me and Will a great testimony that includes His matchmaking skills. We couldn’t have thought or imagined it ourselves in the way He brought us together. That’s the exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ask or think type of blessing! I always had it in my mind that nothing is impossible when it comes to God and that He could even bring my husband from the other end of the earth. Well, He sort of did. William lived in Alaska and had been there for about thirty years. Originally he was from here in Dallas, TX. In God’s perfect timing, He brought William back home to me and his family and then shortly after, and I mean shortly, we were married. There is definitely more to the story, but for now, let’s just say God went before us about ten years ago and prepared the way for us to meet. Our story is definitely God inspired and maybe I’ll share a little more about it soon.
Am I surprised that He brought this Jewish girl a Gentile? Not at all. My heart and calling are all about the One New Man so no surprise here. You might wonder if he has a heart for Israel…the answer is a big yes and he is just as passionate about seeing our Jewish brothers and sisters receive salvation!
In these past two years, there were a few things that the Lord had me lay down which included my writing so I can fully focus on my marriage. I learned that my first ministry is to my husband and that we needed to allow God to intertwine this One New Man couple for the marriage and calling he has for both of us. It has been a journey and I am excited to see how God is going to use us both for His Kingdom in the coming years.
So now, the second reason why I called this post “Lord bring me a Gentile” is that it wasn’t until I was 25 years old that the Lord connected me to my Gentile friend and used her to help usher me into the Kingdom. See, God has called the Gentiles to provoke the Jews to jealousy. (Romans 11:11). I like to say, it’s in their spiritual DNA. In the beginning, it was the Jews who initially brought the Gospel to the Gentiles. Now it is time for Gentile believers to take their rightful place and bring the gospel back to the Jews. It is a known fact that most Jewish salvations occur through the hands of a Gentile. Can Jews minister to Jews? Of course, but again, God has assigned the Gentiles to specifically provoke the Jews.
Unfortunately, the church has not always practiced this. What some of us don’t realize is that God set a pattern of salvation for us to follow. This pattern is taking the gospel to the Jew first..not the Jews only, but first, and also to the Gentiles (Romans 1:16). I definitely will be revisiting this subject because it is so vital for us to understand and know why God set this pattern this way. This pattern is such a priority with God that even Jesus and Paul practiced it within their own ministries. And for us, at this present time, this pattern has everything to do with worldwide revival in these last days (Romans 11:12,15).
The people Israel, our Jewish brothers and sisters are the key to this revival but they must wake up first. And that can only happen when both Jews and Gentiles in the body of Yeshua begin to walk in who they are, meaning their identity in Christ, and from that identity, begin to function as God intended us to be within the ONM, the body of Yeshua, Jesus.
In closing, there is a beautiful synergy that happens when the two, Jewish and Gentile believers become one just like in my marriage to William. Jesus actually prayed for this unity in John 17. The result is, that through this partnership, the One New Man, the world may know Him and God gets the glory! As God showed me years ago, the One New Man, His church, is a mighty weapon in His hands for these last days.
I will be posting more on this subject soon along with other topics that the Lord has put on my heart. I’m so happy to reconnect with old friends and welcome all my new friends here on my blog. You guys are awesome and I thank you for your time. Please feel free to leave a comment. I would love to hear from you!
